  3. Daikokuya: “Crowded, boisterous ramen den. There’s nothing that could really be described as “décor” here, other than its noodle joint vibe but no matter. It’s the generous portions of their oh-so-delish ramen soup that are the focal point. Try to score a seat at the counter so you can watch the ramen-making magic happen…Noodles of just the right consistency and broth–get the Kotteri broth–with just the right amount of pork depth; put these two together and you have the best bowl of ramen we’ve tasted in a long time.” [Read more]

  4. Borough Market: “Ancient, labyrinthine market under London Bridge offering farm fresh produce and gourmet delights…Though there’s been a food market on this site for over 700 years, it’s only in the last decade or so that Borough Market has transformed itself into the bustling community market and foodie haven that it is today. This is one of the oldest (and largest) food markets in the world (the old fashioned wholesale operation still runs in the early mornings), and the sprawl of maze-like alleyways lined with narrow stalls has a decidedly Old World feel. The selection is absolutely unbeatable–you can easily pick up anything from primo olive oil to organic cherries or an emu steak.” [Read more]

    one-suitcase:

Even in London I can’t get away from paella and chorizo!
The Borough Market has all things wonderful. Those things that look like rocks? CHEESE! A really yummy cheese. And that paella could rival Spain’s, I have to admit.

But most importantly - that cookie, AKA the greatest, most scrumptious, delicious thing that I have ever consumed in my life.

  5. Brooklyn Heights Promenade: “This popular esplanade, which stretches above the expressway from Joralemon Street to Grace Court, offers striking views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Popular with families getting fresh air, couples out for a romantic stroll, and tourists snapping the view, the promenade is one of Brooklyn’s most beloved outdoor spaces…”
